Jay

Hello, hello! Name’s Jay. I'm Sri Lankan-Canadian. I love cricket. I mean, it's in my blood to love this incredible sport. I grew up eating, living and breathing cricket. I’ve been a fan since I was about 4 and will always be a fan. The reason I love cricket is because it's known as a gentlemen’s game. Foul play leads to undesirable consequences which I know applies to other sports that one can over-look. Certainly not in cricket though.

Men might say girls are into cricket simply because we ladies get the chance to drool over men in cricket whites etc, but I say different. For those of us who started watching cricket from a younger age, it is strictly because we love the game. Eye-candy is just an added bonus ;) I’m sure most of you would agree :)

I’ve got one name for you - Stuart Broad; not only is this lad gorgeous, intelligent, hard-working, inspiring, dedicated, kind-hearted, and genuine, he also happens to be one of the spearheads for the England cricket team. Yes I am a massive fan of Stuart Broad, have been since 2007.

I'll admit it was his good-looks that grabbed my attention when England were playing against India. Since then the love, respect and admiration for the guy has grown. Why? Because... not only is Stuart one fantastic cricketer, he's also got both his feet planted firmly on the ground. He's not money driven like most people these days, and that's a rare thing! He is also one of the nicest guys I've ever met and he's brutally honest; not afraid to speak his mind, which admittedly sometimes back-fires on him, but that can happen to anyone. It’s a part of being human. I’d rather someone spoke their mind than repeat something they’ve been coached to say through gritted teeth and a fake smile. He may look serious when he’s on the pitch but he's got a funny side to him when he’s off it plus he is pretty shy...

Stuart’s grown a great deal as a cricketer since I first saw him. Everyone remembers the incident from the 2007 T20I World Cup. Since then he’s become England’s go-to bowler in difficult times where he’s shone through like the star he is. Not forgetting he’s been pretty handy with the bat as well. And how many times has he single-handedly won matches for England? Too many to count! :)

We’ve created all these fan-pages for Stuart because he deserves more exposure as a cricketer. People may say we are completely crazy. Well, if supporting a legend in the making is crazy, then you can call us crazy any time. (;
