Sarah

I'm Sarah Richardson, 28, from Redditch in Worcestershire. I am married and have 2 children, Freddie who is 5, and Jenson who is 4 months. I became an official Broadette once they joined twitter. It's such a great group of girls who love all things cricket and we can really get absorbed in talking about it.

My love for cricket started about 7 years ago and completely swept me off my feet. Not really being a massive sports fan at the time, except for football, I discovered my passion for it was greater than even that.

I support Warwickshire bears, also Nottingham Forest (obviously) but will watch any cricket that is on no matter who is playing from England in a test match to the IPL.

When Stuart Broad came to my attention first off I thought wow what a man (sorry but I did) his passion for the sport was infectious and he really wanted to play cricket for the love of the game not for money or the fame which is fair to say for most cricketers to be honest they really would rather not have the fame that comes with the game.

I've had the privlidge of meeting Stuart on 2 seperate occasions, both at Edgbasgon cricket ground where I got photos taken with him. He was very tall. That's the first thing I thought as my husband is tall at about 6"3' but Stuart is taller.

About 2 years ago BBC radio Nottingham asked if one of us could talk to them about us as a group. What we liked about Stuart and such. So I spoke to them explaining we thought his determination was a positive influence on people and really made us think about what we wanted to acheive. It was so nice to be able to tell people that women can enjoy cricket and not just be looking at men, we can appreciate the game for what it is.

I want to thank everyone who makes The Broadettes what we are, be it on Facebook or Twitter, we really love and cherish your support.
